Elephants’ spines are NOT built to support the weight of humans

Elephants’ spines are NOT built to support the weight of humans. Unlike horses or camels, their backs have sharp, bony protrusions instead of smooth, supportive structures. When people ride them—especially repeatedly or with heavy gear—it can lead to serious injuries, chronic pain, and long-term damage to their health.

In many tourist industries, elephants are also subjected to harsh training (often using force) to make them compliant.
• Animal welfare organizations like PETA, World Animal Protection, and National Geographic have spoken against elephant rides due to the physical and psychological harm involved.

If you care about animals, it’s best to admire elephants from a distance and avoid activities that exploit them for entertainment or tourism. Respecting their natural needs helps ensure their well-being and dignity. 🐘💔

*It’s sad, but sometimes I wish all animals could speak. Maybe then they could defend themselves better than humans do.
